While some pilgrims skip the meseta it really is beautiful. Because I am moving slowly I have lots of time to myself - the fast movers are gone quickly and the next wave doesn't come through for an hour or more.
I have stayed at little villages I would normally only have had a coffee stop at.
A cold wind this morning.
Paul these photos are wonderful, slower pace may be better , as you say you see things you otherwise may have whizzed past. Thanks for the comment re the birds. May have to put this trip on our bucket list. Take care, enjoy

DeleteIt does look absolutely gorgeous, Paul.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to our next adventure on the Camino whenever we make it there again. We will pick up the trail in Burgos where we finished in 2015 and tackle the meseta. We have read all sorts of things about the meseta including suggestions to give it a miss, but we still intend to walk it hopefully in not too hot weather.
